Joseph Kim is the founder and managing director of seoulsolution. He has extensive experience in the planning and execution of large, complex corporate transactions including joint ventures, strategic alliances and partnerships, acquisitions, and investments. As a corporate and business development professional he has led teams that closed strategic deals resulting in both top line growth and increased profits.
Prior to founding seoulsolution, Joseph was director of business and corporate development for DeNA Seoul, the wholly owned operating subsidiary of Tokyo-based mobile gaming and e-commerce pioneer DeNA. There he led deals that focused on user acquisition, monetization, and content, closing deals with telecoms, content providers, and online marketing companies. Concurrently, he monitored and maintained compliance with the rapidly evolving legal and regulatory landscape of online privacy and information protection.
Before joining DeNA, Joseph was senior M&A legal counsel at LG Electronics, where he worked closely with LGE’s corporate strategy and finance teams while overseeing all global M&A and new business development projects.
A licensed attorney admitted to the State Bar of California, Joseph began his career working at Yoon & Yang, one of Korea’s preeminent law firms, before moving to the corporate boutique Lee, Shin & Choi. At both firms Joseph worked on and led a wide range of domestic and international transactions including acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures.
Outside of work Joseph likes to keep fit through Crossfit training and competes in Spartan Races. He has regularly competed in Spartan Races since the first race held in Korea in 2013 and completed his first Trifecta in 2019. Joseph enjoys discovering new restaurants and sharing good food and drink with family and friends, and likes to spend his free time reading or catching up on the latest video game releases.
